Pune, 23 March (H.S.): The agriculture sector in Maharashtra is facing numerous challenges such as crop damage, low yield, and excess rains, which have been causing a decline in profitability.
According to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, the focus should shift towards increased capital investment in the sector instead of just relying on relief and rehabilitation measures. He also highlighted the shrinking of land plots as a major issue that is making it difficult for farmers to adopt mechanized farming methods.
In order to address these issues, the state government has initiated schemes like Nanaji Deshmukh Krishi Sanjivani Yojana and SMART yojana, with the aim of promoting investment in agriculture.
