New Delhi, May 7 (HS): Following the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, a special meeting of the Congress Working Committee was held on Wednesday regarding the Indian Army’s retaliatory action ‘Operation Sindoor’ against Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK). The party praised the valor of the army and stated that the Congress Party stands firmly with the country’s armed forces.

In a statement to journalists at the party headquarters, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said, We take pride in our Indian armed forces, who have executed daring actions against terrorist hideouts in Pakistan and POK under ‘Operation Sindoor’, giving a fitting reply. We salute the courage, determination, and patriotism of our brave soldiers. The Indian National Congress has consistently supported every decisive action against cross-border terrorism, standing united with the armed forces and the government.

He further stated that India’s national policy against all forms of terrorism originating from Pakistan is clear and unwavering. There is a pressing need for unity at all levels to safeguard the national unity and integrity of our great nation.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also responded after the Working Committee meeting. He stated, We discussed this subject in the Congress Working Committee meeting. We extend our full support to our armed forces and wish them well. The Congress Party and the Congress Working Committee stand completely with them.
