Counter Intelligence Kashmir raids 22 locations across valley in “Cyber frauds, terror funding probe”

Srinagar, Jan 07 (KINS): In a major action against cyber terrorism and financial crimes, Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) on Wednesday launched a massive crackdown on mule bank accounts allegedly being used to fuel cyber frauds and terror funding.

Official sources told news agency Kashmir Indepth News Service (KINS) that as a part of the ongoing probe, CIK teams conducted coordinated raids at 22 locations across Kashmir, with more than 15 locations in Srinagar district alone.

Multiple premises linked to suspected mule account operators and facilitators were searched simultaneously.

“The operation is aimed at dismantling networks involved in routing illicit funds through mule accounts, which are suspected to be used for cyber frauds as well as for financing terror-related activities”.

Searches were underway at several locations at the time of filing this report.Further details are awaited as the investigation progresses. (KINS)
