
Dehradun, May 18 (H.S.) : Union Health Minister JP Nadda visited soldiers from the Army, ITBP, and SSB in Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand, on Sunday. He gathered information about the weapons and equipment used for border security and expressed gratitude for the success of Operation Sindoor, honoring the soldiers’ dedication and sacrifice. Upon his arrival at Gunji Helipad at 11:45 AM, local residents welcomed him with traditional customs. The minister assured the soldiers of government support and assistance. Following this, the District Magistrate of Pithoragarh, Vinod Goswami, presented a PowerPoint on ongoing schemes and proposed programs under the Vibrant Village initiative, detailing development plans in the area.
The Tourism Department updated the minister on tourism initiatives and arrangements for the Kailash Om Mountain pilgrimage, including updates related to the Swadesh Darshan 2.0 scheme. Additionally, it was noted that there is collaboration between ITBP and local livestock farmers, who supply fresh poultry and sheep-goat to the force through a cooperative scheme involving farmer producer organizations. Union Minister of State for Road Transportation Ajay Tamta, Minister of Animal Husbandry Saurabh Bahuguna, and other officials were also present during the visit.
