CPI(M), Congress blame Sanatana Dharma for Pahalgam massacre

Thiruvananthapuram, 23 April(HS): While the rest of the world and India lambasted Pakistan for Tuesday evenings Pahalgam massacre in which 28 Hindus were massacred by Muslim terrorists, the CPI(M) ‘s Kerala secretary M V Govindan blamed Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, the RSS and the Hindus for the same. Though he failed to explain what the PM, HM, the RSS and Hindus did to earn the wrath of the Muslim terrorists, Govindan said all these happenings were the result of the actions by the Central Government and the Hindus in the country.

“Though he is not educated and his only experience is that of a drill master in a lower primary school, Govindan blames the Sanatana dharma, Hindus and Narendra Modi even for earthquakes happening in countries like Japan, or Latin America,” said A Jayashankar, leading political commentator.

Last week, he had issued a “stern warning” to US President Donald Trump not to go ahead with the hike in tariffs to produsts imported to the USA. “If he goes ahead with the plan to hike the tariff, Trump will have to pay for the action. We will not sit idle,” thundered Govindan much to the enthusiasm of the party cadre.

The Leader of the Opposition in Kerala assembly V D Satheeshan of the Congress played it safe while expressing sadness at the Pahalgam massacre. He condemned Kerala BJP chief Rajeev Chandrasekhar for blaming Pakistan and the terrorist outfits for the massacre. “We should never blame the Muslims for the Pahalgam massacre. Just because a group of persons perpetrated a crime, we should not use terms like Islamic terrorism. Muslims are innocent and nice people,” said Satheeshan.
