Saharanpur,
25 April (HS): Darul Uloom Deoband condemned the Pahalgam attack as a ‘crime
against humanity’ and advocated stern punishment against those
responsible. Islamic authorities
highlighted that the incident undermines national unity and that terrorism has
no place in Islam, while also rejecting attempts to relate such atrocities to
religion. Darul Uloom Deoband, a famous
Islamic school, vehemently denounced the latest terrorist incident in Pahalgam,
Kashmir, calling it a ‘crime against humanity.’
The manager, Mufti Abul Qasim Nomani, emphasized the need of taking
harsh punishment against those guilty for the incident, which claimed the lives
of 26 people, the majority of whom were tourists. Nomani described the incident as a ‘severe danger
to the nation’s unity,’ expressing condolences to victims’ families and wished
the injured a speedy recovery.
Urging
the central government to act quickly, he highlighted the barbarism involved in
attacking defenseless citizens and expressed sympathy for the bereaved
families. Leaders of both Jamiat
Ulema-e-Hind groups spoke out against the attack as well. Maulana Arshad Madani referred to terrorists
as ‘beasts,’ while Maulana Mahmood Madani underscored the attack’s inhumanity. Both leaders stressed that Islam’s
fundamental principles do not condone such brutality, encouraging unity to
avert communal discord.
