Lucknow,
20 April (HS): Defence Minister Rajnath Singh handed over the keys of flats
allotted by Lucknow Development Authority under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana to
17 displaced families of Cantonment Board, Lucknow on 20 April 2025. These
families, who were living illegally on defence land for the last 70 years, were
ordered to vacate their houses, due to which the families were facing the
threat of becoming homeless. After the matter came to the notice of the Hon’ble
Defence Minister, he issued necessary instructions for the rehabilitation of
the concerned families.
Lucknow
Cantonment Board officially corresponded with Lucknow Development Authority and
District Magistrate, Lucknow on this subject, after which Lucknow Development
Authority passed this proposal of Cantonment Board, Lucknow in its board
meeting and allotted houses to all 17 families under Pradhan Mantri Awas
Yojana.
On
this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Brijesh Pathak, Member of
Legislative Council Mukesh Sharma, CEO of Cantonment Board Abhishek Rathore, VC
of Lucknow Development Authority Prathamesh Kumar were present.
