New Delhi, April 12 (HS): The police of South West Delhi and Rohini District have apprehended six illegal Bangladeshi immigrants, including two who were living as transgender individuals in Mahipalpur to avoid detection. All suspects have been sent to the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO). Rohini District DCP Amit Goyal stated that illicit residents were under surveillance, leading to the arrest of three Bangladeshis—Akalima Bibi, Mohammad Kamal, and Mahboob Alam—under false identities. Mahboob, from Hilalpur, Sylhet, had a pharmacy in Bangladesh and entered India on April 5. Mohammad Kamal, originally from Madaripur, crossed back into India after being deported in 2012 and was working as a scrap dealer. Akalima Bibi, once deported in 2007, resided in Bawana.

Separately, the Anti-Snatching Cell arrested two more Bangladeshis in Mahipalpur, Mahi and Tanya, who disguised as transgender individuals to beg at traffic signals. This group possessed banned mobile applications and forged Indian Aadhaar and PAN cards. The two disclosed they had undergone surgeries and hormonal treatments to alter their appearance, helped by another Bangladeshi transgender named Pinky and Irara (alias Natasha), who aided their illegal entry and document creation. The police are currently searching for these accomplices.

In a related incident, the Special Staff from the southwestern district apprehended a Bangladeshi named Ambrose from RK Puram, who was evading police. His identity confirmed his origin from Saidpur, Bangladesh, and he was arrested based on received intelligence.
