
Delhi, 17 May (H.S.): The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet (GEAPP) to enhance innovation and entrepreneurship in India’s clean energy and manufacturing sectors. This two-year partnership will support early-stage climate-tech startups by providing access to funding, mentorship, pilot opportunities, and market connections, aiming to create a robust pipeline of ventures that align with India’s net-zero goals.
Key initiatives include the Energy Transitions Innovation Challenge (ENTICE), offering rewards of up to $500,000 for impactful solutions, with investment support from partners like Spectrum Impact. Sanjiv, Joint Secretary of DPIIT, emphasized the importance of entrepreneurship for India’s climate leadership. Saurabh Kumar from GEAPP viewed the MoU as a crucial step for collaboration among industry, government, and innovators, unlocking opportunities for clean energy startups.
