Dutch wins 3 golds at speed skating World Single Distances Championships

Hamar, (Norway), March 15: The Netherlands had a remarkable performance on the second day of the ISU World Single Distance Championship held at Hamar Olympic Hall, Norway, winning three gold medals, one silver, and one bronze.

The Netherlands team made a strong start in the women’s team pursuit event, clinching the gold medal with a time of 2 minutes 56.09 seconds. Japan took home the silver medal, while Canada secured the bronze.

In the men’s team pursuit event, the United States achieved the gold medal with a time of 3 minutes 39.24 seconds. Italy won the silver, and the Netherlands earned the bronze medal.

The Netherlands also dominated in the 500-meter individual events. In the women’s 500-meter event, Femke Kok won the gold medal with a time of 37.50 seconds, while her compatriot Jutta Leerdam secured the silver medal. South Korea’s Kim Min-seon had to settle for the bronze medal.

In the men’s 500-meter event, Janning de Boer set a new track record with a gold medal-winning time of 34.24 seconds. American star Jordan Stolz took home the silver medal, while Cooper MacLeod of the USA received the bronze medal.

This thrilling event of the ISU World Single Distance Championship will continue until March 17, featuring top skaters from around the world.
