
New Delhi, 27 February (HS): Foreign Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar on Thursday met the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, who came to India on a two-day visit.
The Foreign Minister gave this information by tweeting on X. He said that her ideas about giving dynamism to India’s relations with Europe were commendable. The extensive participation of Indian ministers and the College of Commissioners of the European Union during this visit underlines the importance of India-EU relations.
Earlier, on reaching Delhi, Ursula had said in X post that India is a reliable friend and strategic partner of Europe in the era of tough competition and struggle. She will discuss with Prime Minister Narendra Modi during her visit to take this strategic partnership to the next stage.
After coming to India, she first went to Rajghat and paid homage to the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi. Tomorrow she will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Hyderabad House in Delhi.
