Nagpur, 01 Mar (HS):-The
Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has awarded the ‘Eat Right
Station’ certification to seven key railway stations under the Nagpur Division
of Central Railway. These stations include Nagpur, Amla, Betul, Ballarshah,
Chandrapur, Wardha, and Sewagram.
The ‘Eat Right
Station’ certification is a testament to the Nagpur Division’s commitment to
food safety and passenger welfare. As part of the assessment process, FSSAI
conducted a comprehensive evaluation of the food establishments at these
stations, focusing on food safety protocols, hygiene practices, nutritional
standards, and overall cleanliness. The inspection covered restaurants, food
stalls, water hygiene, and vendor hygiene to ensure adherence to the highest
standards of food safety.
This
certification is an integral part of FSSAI’s ‘Eat Right Movement,’ launched in
2018, which aims to transform India’s food systems and promote healthy eating
habits. The Nagpur Division of Central Railway will conduct monthly inspections
of all food establishments at the certified stations, to maintain the standards
and food safety. Training sessions for food vendors will be organized regularly
to reinforce hygiene, nutrition, and safety protocols. Strict action will be
taken against any violations of the rules.
