Eight Naxals killed in Bokaro police encounter

Bokaro, April 21 (HS): The police have taken significant action against Naxalites in Bokaro district of Jharkhand. In an encounter with the Jharkhand police on Monday, eight Naxals were killed. According to police headquarters, this encounter occurred near Sosso Tola at the foothills of the Lugoo Hills in Bokaro. Eight Naxals were killed in this operation, with reports indicating that several of them had bounties on their heads. The encounter involved a wanted Naxal named Vivek, who has a bounty of one crore. A large quantity of weapons and explosives were also recovered after the encounter.

According to the Jharkhand police headquarters, the security forces were deployed following information about a large group of Naxals staying in the area. The Naxals opened fire on the forces, prompting a retaliatory strike from Jharkhand police and central forces. The encounter is ongoing. As per the information received from Jharkhand police headquarters, the encounter involved Vivek’s group, and reports indicate that several of Vivek’s associates have been killed. According to information, the bodies of eight Naxals have been recovered from the forest. Efforts are underway to identify all of them. Jharkhand police spokesperson and IG operations, A.V. Homekar, stated that eight Naxals have been killed and the encounter is still in progress, with a significant amount of weapons recovered as well.
