
New Delhi, April 7 (H.S) : Prominent nationalist thinker and esteemed writer Dr. Suryakant Bali has passed away, prompting deep condolences from the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. Throughout his literary career, national issues were central to his work, and he revitalized nationalist thought. He taught at Ramjas College, Delhi University, and contributed to Navbharat Times, later focusing on independent writing.
Dattatreya Hosabale, the General Secretary of the RSS, shared his sadness over Bali’s demise, highlighting how Dr. Bali enriched Hindi literature with his strong nationalist perspectives. A scholar well-versed in Hindi and Sanskrit, he is remembered for his profound contributions to literature and journalism.
Born on November 9, 1943, in Multan, Dr. Bali earned a B.A. (Honours) in English, an M.A. in Sanskrit from Hansraj College, and a Ph.D. in Sanskrit linguistics from Delhi University. His published works include politically themed books like Mahaprashna of India’s politics’ and ‘Bharat ke Vyakti Ki Pehchaan’. Apart from this, he wrote three books on Indian archaeology- ‘Contribution of Bhattoji Dikshit to Sanskrit Grammar (Ph.D. Thisis)’, ‘Historical and Critical Studies in the Atharvaved (Ed)’ and a book on Mahabharata- ‘Mahabharat: Punarpaath’.
