England wins 2nd women’s ODI against India, leveling series 1-1

In the rain-affected second ODI, England defeated India by 8 wickets.

London, July 20 (H.S.): In the rain-affected second ODI, England defeated India by 8 wickets using the Duckworth-Lewis rule, leveling the series at 1-1. England’s Sophie Ecclestone took 3 wickets and was named Player of the Match. Due to rain, each innings was limited to 29 overs.

India batted first after captain Harmanpreet Kaur lost the toss, struggling with a poor start. Pratika Rawal and Harmanpreet each managed only 3 and 7 runs, respectively, while Smriti Mandhana scored 42 and Deepti Sharma 30 not out. India finished at 143 for 8.

In response, England’s Amy Jones scored an unbeaten 46, supported by Tammy Beaumont’s 34 and Nat Sciver-Brunt’s 21. England chased down the target with only 2 wickets lost, setting the stage for a decisive third match.
