New Delhi, April 8 (HS): Zimbabwe announced its squad on Monday for the two-match Test series against Bangladesh, welcoming back experienced players Sean Williams and captain Craig Ervine, who missed the last Test against Ireland in February due to injury and personal reasons, respectively. The team saw three changes: wicketkeeper-batsman Tafadzwa Tsiga returns after two years, replacing Joylord Gumbie; Wellington Masakadza is back in the Test side, taking the spot of Newman Nyamurundira; and top-order batsman Takudzwanashe Kaitano has been omitted, with Wessly Madhevere retained in his place. Madhevere was a late addition during the Ireland Test in Ervine’s absence.

The series will take place in Sylhet (April 20-24) and Chattogram (April 28-May 2), marking Zimbabwe’s first Test series in Bangladesh since their last encounter in February 2020, which Bangladesh won by an innings and 106 runs.
