Sonbhadra,
08 May (HS): On Thursday morning, a transformer caught fire in the switchyard
portion of the Obra B Thermal Power Station, according to authorities. Following
the event, officials were compelled to shut down two 200-megawatt units apiece
as a precautionary measure, they claimed. Thick black smoke and huge flames
were spotted coming from the transformer at the Obra B power project’s
switchyard this morning. The incident was reported promptly to the CISF fire
brigade wing, which dispatched three fire tenders to the scene, according to
Chief General Manager R K Agrawal. The fire was brought under control after
almost two hours of heavy firefighting, according to Agrawal, who confirmed
