Dhaka, July 31(HS): Five individuals have been arrested in connection with an attack on Hindus in Aldadpur Balapara village, Bangladesh, and were taken to a Rangpur Division court. The court has sentenced them to jail. The accused, Yasin Ali (25), Swadhin Mia (28), Ashraful Islam (28), Atikur Rahman Khan (30), and Saddam Hussain Salim (22), all hail from Magura village in Kishoreganj.
The arrests were made by joint forces at their residences on Wednesday. The situation escalated after victim Rabindra Nath Roy filed a case for vandalism and robbery at the police station, naming 1,200 unidentified suspects. The attack on the Hindu community took place over the weekend, resulting in the theft of cattle, cash, and gold jewelry.
