New Delhi, March 1 (HS): The Ministry of Civil Aviation took a historic step to strengthen regional connectivity and on Saturday started the flight of its aircraft Boeing-737 from Kolkata-Hindon-Goa. The project was inaugurated by Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu at Hindon (Ghaziabad), demonstrating exemplary civil military coordination.
Hindon Airport is located in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. It is an important asset to the nation due to its strategic location, dual-use capabilities, military infrastructure and ability to handle diverse air traffic. The start of flights from Hindon will greatly help in reducing air traffic congestion in NCR.
This flight under the UDAN (Ude Desh Ka Aam Naagrik) project is a testimony to the commitment of the Indian Air Force to support both military and civilian air operations, facilitating better access to various places.
Beyond its core mission of protecting the country’s skies, the Indian Air Force actively contributes to nation building by supporting initiatives such as Project Udaan aimed at enhancing regional air connectivity across India.
Hindon Airport belongs to the Indian Air Force, which is extremely sensitive and important from a strategic point of view.
