Delhi, 7 April (H.S.): Union Minister for Finance & Corporate Affairs, Nirmala Sitharaman, will undertake an official visit to the UK and Austria from April 8 to 13, 2025. During her visit, she will engage in Ministerial Level Bilateral meetings, participate in the 13th Ministerial round of the India-UK Economic & Financial Dialogue (EFD) on April 9, and connect with investors and business leaders in both countries.
The 13th EFD in London, co-chaired by Smt. Sitharaman and the UK Chancellor of the Exchequer, serves as a vital platform for dialogue on investment, financial services, financial regulations, UPI interlinkages, and more. Key priorities for India include cooperation in GIFT City, insurance and pension sectors, FinTech, digital economy, and sustainable climate finance. Several reports and initiatives for collaboration will be announced during this dialogue.
FM Sitharaman will also give a keynote address at the India-UK Investor Roundtable, highlighting opportunities to UK CEOs and financial institutions. This roundtable, co-hosted with UK Secretary of State for Business and Trade, Rt. Hon. Jonathan Reynolds, will involve leading pension funds and asset managers.
In Austria, FM Sitharaman will hold talks with senior officials, including Finance Minister Markus Marterbauer and Federal Chancellor H.E. Christian Stocker. A session co-chaired with Austrian Minister for Economy, Wolfgang Hattmannsdorfer, will inform key Austrian CEOs about investment opportunities in India, aiming to deepen collaboration between the two nations.
