Forest Department's clarification on the death of three elephants in Manas Park

Chirang (Assam), 03 May (HS): Finally, the Forest Department has clarified the situation on Saturday in the case of the death of three elephants in Manas National Park.

A team of poachers shot and killed a female and a young elephant in the Shikarijhar area under Panbari Range of Manas National Park and Tiger Reserve and fled with their teeth.

On the contrary, the body of the third female elephant was recovered near a water source in the Vancham area of Panbari Range. The Forest Department has claimed that this elephant died due to natural causes due to old age.

Here, the entire case is being investigated by a team of senior officials and experts of the Forest Department, who are trying to find out which gang is involved behind this poaching incident. The department has got some clues.

The Forest Department is continuously running a drive to catch the gang of poachers and it is hoped that the culprits will be arrested very soon.
