Gaurav Gogoi visited Pakistan at ISI’s behest, says CM

Assam CM Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma speaking at Deshbhakta Tarun Ram Phookan Higher Secondary School's anniversary event in Silchar on Tuesday.

Guwahati, 18 May (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma has once again made serious allegations against Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi. Talking to reporters on Sunday, he claimed that Gogoi went to Pakistan on the invitation of the Home Ministry of the Pakistan government and the intelligence agency ISI there.

The Chief Minister said, Gaurav Gogoi was invited by the Home Department of the Pakistan government. He accepted this invitation and traveled to Pakistan. All documents and facts will be brought out in this regard in September. Even if Gaurav Gogoi had gone on the invitation of the Ministry of Culture or the Ministry of External Affairs, the matter would have been different.

Sarma accused the Congress of having links with foreign agencies and said that the public has already identified those leaders who have links with anti-national elements. He said, Whatever relationship there is between Gogoi and the Pakistani agency, it is not just a political issue, but a matter related to national security.

It is noteworthy that the Chief Minister has made such statements earlier as well, although Gaurav Gogoi and the Congress Party have completely rejected these allegations.
