Giriraj Singh begins official visit to Japan and holds key meetings with Japanese textile industry leaders

Delhi, 15 July (H.S.): Union Minister of Textiles Giriraj Singh, began his visit to Tokyo on 14th July by honoring Mahatma Gandhi’s ideals. He held a briefing at the Embassy of India on India-Japan textile relations and opportunities. A strategic meeting with Mr. Tadashi Yanai of Fast Retailing focused on expanding operations in India. Discussions with Stylem Co. Ltd prompted an invitation to enhance engagement through PM MITRA Parks.

Notably, Daiso Industries revealed plans to open 200 stores and manufacture cotton in India, with encouragement to utilize local textile resources. The day wrapped up with an interactive roundtable where Giriraj Singh engaged with CEOs of Japanese textile firms, advocating for investments in technical textiles, fiber production, and machinery. Ambassador Sibi George opened the session, and Rohit Kansal presented key policies and opportunities in the sector.
