Bankura, April 16 (HS). A case of molestation of a girl student in a crowded bus near Raipur crossing of the district has come to light on Wednesday. After the incident, the co-passengers beat up the accused. On information, the police of Raipur police station reached the spot and rescued the accused from the clutches of the people.

According to local sources, the eighth class student was going to Raipur for tuition by boarding a passenger bus from Bankura to Tata like other days. It is alleged that a co-passenger in the bus molested the girl student in the moving bus by making various excuses. As soon as the bus reached Raipur traffic crossing, the harassed girl student got down from the bus crying, the local people wanted to know the reason for her crying. When the girl student told the whole incident, the angry local residents and co-passengers in the bus took the accused youth off the bus and started slapping him. The accused was also beaten with shoes. On information, Raipur police reached the spot. The accused was taken into custody. Efforts are on to identify the accused.
