Goa CM proposes to donate gold to Pashupatinath Temple

Kathmandu, 27 February (HS): Nepal’s Tourism and Culture Minister has said that the Chief Minister of the Indian state of Goa, Pramod Sawant, has proposed to donate gold for the Pashupatinath temple in Kathmandu. The Chief Minister of Goa wanted to know how many kilograms of gold would be required to apply gold coating on the Shivling, and he is ready to donate that much gold on his own behalf.

On Thursday, in Kathmandu, at the annual festival of the organization of journalists who write in the religious and spiritual field, Tourism and Culture Minister Badri Pandey said that on the occasion of Mahashivratri, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant called the Mool Bhatt (chief priest) of Pashupatinath temple and proposed to donate gold. He said that the Chief Minister of Goa proposed to apply gold coating on the Shivling in the sanctum sanctorum of Pashupatinath temple.

On the proposal of Goa Chief Minister, Minister Badri Pandey said that for this, preparations are being made to amend the law of Nepal, because there is no law in Nepal to accept gold as donation. He said that in view of the faith and devotion towards the temple, the law of Nepal will be amended. Only after that the donation can be accepted.
