
Delhi, 23 October (H.S.): The downward trend in the domestic bullion market persisted on Thursday, with both gold and silver prices registering a decline on the festival of Bhai Dooj. Gold prices fell for the fourth consecutive day, while silver also became significantly cheaper.
Gold prices tumbled by a range of ₹4,300 to ₹4,690 per 10 grams. Following the drop, 24-carat gold was trading in a band of ₹1,25,880 to ₹1,26,030 per 10 grams across most major markets. Similarly, 22-carat gold was quoted between ₹1,15,390 and ₹1,15,540 per 10 grams.
Silver also saw a substantial price correction, falling by up to ₹4,000 per kilogram, with the precious metal trading at ₹1,59,900 per kilogram in the Delhi bullion market.
Across the country’s major cities, prices showed slight variations. In Delhi, Lucknow, and Jaipur, 24-carat gold was priced at the higher end of the range at ₹1,26,030 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold stood at ₹1,15,540.
In key commercial centers like Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad, both 24-carat and 22-carat gold were trading at ₹1,25,880 and ₹1,15,390 per 10 grams, respectively. Meanwhile, in cities like Ahmedabad and Patna, 24-carat gold was available for ₹1,25,930 per 10 grams, and 22-carat gold was priced at ₹1,15,440 per 10 grams.
The price drop was consistent across the country, affecting markets in states such as Karnataka, Telangana, and Odisha.
