LONDON, 26 October (H.S.): In her first interview with a UK broadcaster, former US Vice-President Kamala Harris has strongly suggested she may run for president again in 2028 and launched a sharp critique of President Donald Trump, labeling him a tyrant.
Speaking to the BBC’s Laura Kuenssberg for an interview set to air on Sunday, Harris stated it was possibly her who would one day be the first female president and that she is not done with her political career. She dismissed unfavorable polling, noting that if she had listened to polls, she would never have run for her previous offices.
The interview comes as Harris promotes her new memoir, 107 Days, which chronicles her 2024 presidential campaign.Harris asserted that her campaign warnings about President Trump behaving as a fascist have been proven correct.
He said he would weaponise the Department of Justice – and he has done exactly that, she said, pointing to the Trump-appointed regulator threatening broadcasters over a joke made by late-night host Jimmy Kimmel.
Harris accused American business leaders and institutions of capitulating to the president’s demands, bending the knee at the foot of a tyrant.Reflecting on her 2024 election loss, Harris attributed the defeat largely to the compressed timeframe she had after President Joe Biden withdrew from the race.
The White House dismissed her comments, with a spokeswoman stating, the American people don’t care about her absurd lies.
