The
Allahabad High Court has given a mandate to the Archaeological Survey of India
(ASI) to complete the whitewashing of Jama Masjid in Uttar Pradesh’s Sambhal
district within one week.After
examining submissions from both parties, Justice Rohit Ranjan Agarwal directed
ASI to improve the mosque’s facade by installing lights. This decision follows
an earlier instruction requesting clarification from ASI on why these upgrades
may create problems, which had not received a significant answer from the ASI
until Monday.
