New Delhi, April 25 (H.S.): On Friday, a ‘non-explosive aerial store’ accidentally fell from an Indian Air Force fighter jet onto the roof of a building in Pichhore, near Shivpuri, Madhya Pradesh, resulting in significant property damage but no reported injuries. At approximately 11 a.m., the object landed on the residence of teacher Manoj Sagar, who was having lunch with his children. A loud explosion ensued, blowing off the roof and creating an 8 to 10 feet deep pit in the courtyard. Two rooms of the house were extensively damaged, with debris falling on a nearby parked vehicle. Residents from surrounding houses reported feeling the blast.
Local authorities quickly cordoned off the area, and Shivpuri’s Superintendent of Police, Aman Singh Rathore, confirmed that the heavy metal object caused considerable damage but spared the family’s safety. There were four family members present during the incident, all unharmed. Police and administrative teams are working closely with the Air Force to investigate the event and assess the object’s nature, which was described as ‘very solid’ with burn marks. The Air Force confirmed the accidental drop and expressed regret over the incident, initiating an investigation into the circumstances surrounding it, coordinating efforts with experts from the Gwalior Airbase.
