High-level meeting at Ministry of Home Affairs on Tuesday following Pahalgam terror attack

Home ministry meeting

Delhi, 29 April (H.S.): A high-level meeting is occurring at the Ministry of Home Affairs in Delhi following the Pahalgam terror attack that left 26 dead. Key officials, including Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan and heads of various security forces, are in attendance.

This meeting follows a week of intensified counter-terrorism operations in Jammu and Kashmir, including raids by the Jammu and Kashmir Police at 13 sites in Doda to dismantle terrorist hideouts. Concurrently, the Union Cabinet is scheduled to meet on Wednesday for the first time since the April 22 attack, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Last week, only the Cabinet Committee on Security convened, condemning the attack and leading to significant diplomatic measures against Pakistan.

These include downgrading ties, expelling military attaches, suspending the Indus Water Treaty, and closing the Attari land-transit post due to cross-border links with the attack.
