HM Shah to inaugurate Lachit Barphukan Police Academy today

Golaghat (Assam), 15 March (HS): Union Home Minister Amit Shah will formally inaugurate the Lachit Barphukan Police Academy built by the Assam government in Dergaon on Saturday. It is noteworthy that Shah, who arrived on a three-day visit to Assam late Friday evening, was welcomed at the Raraiya airport in Jorhat by state BJP president Dilip Saikia, Union Minister of State for External Affairs Pavitra Margherita and senior BJP leaders. The Home Minister reached Dergaon directly from Jorhat airport. He will attend various programs in the Northeast as part of his three-day official visit.

The Home Minister stayed overnight at the guest house of the Police Training Center in Dergaon.

Today the Home Minister will leave for Mizoram after formally inaugurating the Lachit Barphukan Police Academy built by the Assam government in Dergaon. After completing the official programs in Mizoram, he will return to Guwahati tonight and will stay overnight at the State Guest House in Koinadhara.

On Sunday morning, Shah will leave for Kokrajhar. There, he will attend the proposed All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) annual convention at Dotma.

He will then return to Guwahati in the evening and attend a meeting with all the chief ministers of the northeastern states at the Radisson Blu Hotel. After the meeting, he will leave for Delhi in the night itself.
