Hockey India Announces 54-Member Probable Core Group for Senior Men's National Coaching Camp

New Delhi, April 24 (H.S.): Hockey India announced on Thursday the probable core group of 54 players for the upcoming Senior Men’s National Coaching Camp. This camp will commence on April 25 at the SAI Center in Bengaluru.

The selection of these players was based on their performance in the recently concluded 15th Hockey India Senior Men’s National Championship 2025 held in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh. The camp will run from April 25 to 30, after which the group will be reduced to 40 players based on their performance. The selected 40 players will participate in the next phase of the camp from May 1 to May 25, 2025. Out of the 54-member squad, 38 players have already been part of the core group, while the remaining players have been called up based on their outstanding performances in the National Championship. These new faces include players from Hockey Madhya Pradesh, Hockey Maharashtra, Hockey Punjab, UP Hockey, Hockey Bengal, and Manipur Hockey.

Pathak, Suraj Karkera, Pawan, Mohit Honnenehalli Shashikumar, Amit Rohidas, Varun Kumar, Jugraj Singh, Neelam Sanjeev Jes, Amandeep Lakra, Harmanpreet Singh, Jarmanpreet Singh, Sanjay, Yashdeep Sivas, Mohammad Rahiil Mousin, Raj Kumar Pal, Neelkantha Sharma, Hardik Singh, Sumit, Moirangthem Rabichandra Singh, Poovanna Chandura Bobby, Rajinder Singh, Vishnu Kant Singh, Manpreet Singh, Vivek Sagar Prasad, Shamsher Singh, Gurjant Singh, Abhishek, Shilanand Lakra, Aditya Arjun Lalgye, Bobby Singh Dhami, Selvam Karti, Sunil Jojo, Mandeep Singh, Lalit Kumar Upadhyay, Dilpreet Singh, Sukjeet Singh, Sudip Chiramakho, and Angad Beer Singh.

Head Coach Craig Fulton said, The main objective of this camp is to bring the players back to the field and the gym to strengthen their basic preparations. We are working with a mix of senior players, reserves, and some young faces. This camp is a great opportunity to try out new players, as well as to see what level the senior players are at. He further stated, Keeping in mind the final phase of the Pro League happening in June, fitness will remain a major focus of this camp. This camp will be challenging at every level—physical, game plan, and mental fitness.

On the role of young players, he said, This time we are trying to closely observe new and junior talent, but it is also essential to strengthen the stability and structure of the senior group. Balancing experience with youthful enthusiasm will be the biggest highlight of this camp. Coach Fulton mentioned that while there will not be any official tournament before the Pro League, the team will conduct a training camp in Ireland. Three friendly matches will be played there, which will be crucial for preparations for the Pro League.
