21 March (HS): Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister of Uttar Pradesh and
Minister in-charge of Lucknow district, Suresh Kumar Khanna, on Friday conducted
a surprise inspection of four wards of Lucknow Municipal Corporation regarding
cleanliness system. During the inspection, he also gave necessary instructions
to the Municipal Commissioner regarding cleanliness, sewer, lighting and roads
in the areas. He said that the cleanliness related officers should visit their
areas regularly and improve the cleanliness system in the area.
The
Minister-in-charge conducted a field inspection of Narhi area of Hazratganj
ward, Jiyamau area of Vikramaditya ward, Sanjay Gandhipuram of Gomti Nagar
ward and Radhapuram area of Smile Ganj ward II.
Along
with inspecting cleanliness, water, roads and sewerage in these areas, he also
collected information from the local people. He expressed displeasure over
complaints of clogged drains and lack of regular cleaning in Narhi area and
directed action to be taken against the Zonal Officer of Zone 1. He instructed
the concerned officials to get the drains cleaned by this evening at any cost.
Regarding the problem of drinking water, he instructed that the drinking water
work should be expedited and the availability of pure drinking water to the
people should be ensured.
He
said that encroachment on drains should be removed with the help of local
public representatives and the general public so that there is uninterrupted
flow in the drains.
Suresh
Kumar Khanna reached Jiyamau and Gomti Nagar wards in this sequence. He gave
instructions for the construction of sewer line in Jiyamau. Apart from this, in
Gomti Nagar ward, regarding the problem of water logging in the houses near the
railway land, he instructed the concerned to conduct a survey for digging the
drain.
The
minister in charge gave instructions to construct the main road in Ismail Ganj
Ward II along with improving the lighting system. Apart from this, he also gave
necessary instructions to construct a sewer line in this area. Regarding the
cleanliness system here, he instructed that the number of sanitation workers
should be increased in this area and regular cleaning should be ensured. During
the inspection, Mayor Sushma Kharkwal, Municipal Commissioner Indrajit Singh
and area councilors, Municipal Corporation officials and other dignitaries
including Chairman of Cleanliness Promotion Committee Sunil Kumar Mishra were
present.
