India Bans 16 YouTube Channels from Pakistan

New Delhi, April 28 (H.S.): India has banned 16 YouTube channels from Pakistan, totaling 63 million subscribers, for airing inflammatory content post the Pahalgam terrorist attack.

The ban, recommended by the Ministry of Home Affairs, affects notable news outlets and journalists, including Dawn, Sama TV, ARY News, and Geo News, as well as individual journalists like Irshad Bhatti and Asma Shirazi. Other banned channels include The Pakistan Reference and Uzair Cricket.

Furthermore, the Indian government warned the BBC over a headline referring to the attacker as a militant. These channels are accused of spreading false and misleading information against India and its military amid heightened tensions following the Pahalgam attack that resulted in the deaths of 25 tourists and a local Kashmiri.
