OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, who is on a visit to India, said that India is an important market for AI in general, especially for ‘open’ AI, it is our second largest market. India should be among the leading countries of the AI ​​revolution with its complete model.

During a conversation with Ashwini Vaishnav, Sam Altman said that the number of OpenAI users in the country has increased three times last year. He strongly appreciated India’s efforts in building AI at all levels of stack, chips, models and incredible applications. He advised India to move forward with full potential in the field of AI.

On this occasion, Ashwini Vaishnav said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi guides us to democratize technology. Sam has appreciated the vision of the Prime Minister. During this conversation, Vaishnav said that innovation can happen anywhere in the world, so why should it not happen in India.

Altman’s visit is taking place at a time when the dominance of OpenAI and AI is suddenly being challenged by the Chinese company DeepSeek. DeepSeek is attracting people’s attention with its low-cost AI model R1, which has been built at a cost of less than US $ 6 million. DeepSeek has also become the top ranked free app on Apple’s App Store, leaving behind ChatGPT.
