India-US Naval Exercise Tiger Triumph scheduled for April 1-13

India and the U.S. will conduct 'Tiger Triumph' in Bay of Bengal, concluding April 13 in Visakhapatnam.

Delhi, 31 March (H.S.): India and the U.S. are set to begin the ‘Tiger Triumph’ exercise on April 1, focused on military interoperability for humanitarian assistance and disaster relief (HADR) in crisis situations. Running until April 13, this fourth edition will take place in the Bay of Bengal, beginning with a flag parade aboard INS Jalashva. The exercise aims to enhance coordination between Indian and U.S. Joint Task Forces (JTF) during emergencies, developing standard operating procedures (SOPs) and establishing a Combined Coordination Center (CCC).

Indian Navy ships, including Jalashva, Gharial, Mumbai, and Shakti, will participate alongside personnel from the 91 Infantry Brigade and 12 MEC Infantry Battalion, while U.S. representation includes Navy ships Comstock and Ralph Johnson with U.S. Marine personnel. The port phase in Visakhapatnam, concluding April 7, will involve training, expert exchanges, and social events. Following this, the maritime phase will feature operations along Kakinada’s coast.

Both nations’ armies will establish a joint command center at the Kakinada Naval Enclave, and a medical camp will be set up by the Indian Air Force and U.S. Navy teams for medical assistance. The exercise will culminate with a closing ceremony on April 13 aboard the Comstock.
