Indian Healthcare League Launched to Promote Cancer Awareness and Mental Well-being Among Doctors

New Delhi, September 7 (HS): Whitecoat Sports has officially unveiled the Indian Healthcare League (IHL), a unique sporting initiative dedicated exclusively to doctors. The league aims not only to promote physical and mental fitness among healthcare professionals but also to raise awareness about cancer and encourage open conversations on mental health within society.

Speaking at the launch event as chief guest, former Indian cricketer Cheteshwar Pujara hailed the initiative as a groundbreaking movement. “The Indian Healthcare League is a remarkable platform dedicated to those who dedicate their lives to keeping us healthy. Beyond boosting fitness, it seeks to strengthen mental health among doctors and create cancer awareness. I believe this league will inspire not just doctors but the entire society to embrace fitness, preventive healthcare, and sports,” Pujara said.

Dr. Rahul Mangal, Chairman and Managing Director of Whitecoat Sports, emphasized the Doctor-First philosophy of the organization. “The Indian Healthcare League is not only about promoting fitness but also addressing two of today’s most pressing priorities — cancer awareness and mental health. By providing doctors with a platform to engage in sports, our goal is to create an impact where healthy doctors lead stronger communities, while spreading awareness on issues that affect millions across India,” he stated.

The inaugural season will feature six franchise teams representing different regions of the country: Delhi Avatars, Gujarat Lionhearts, Rajasthan Lake-City Warriors, Maharashtra Med Titans, Haryana Juggernauts, and Uttar Pradesh Super Kings. The launch ceremony was attended by doctors from across fields, alongside Pujara, lending strong support to the movement.
