Gumi (South Korea), May 30(HS): India’s men’s 4×100 meter relay team was disqualified during the heats of the Asian Athletics Championship 2025 in Gumi after finishing second. Despite their performance, the team was marked Disqualified due to a baton exchange outside the takeover zone, violating World Athletics Technical Rule 24.7. The Malaysian team faced the same disqualification. India opted not to appeal the decision. Notably, regular runners Gurinderveer Singh and Animesh Kujur were absent, allowing Pranav Gurav and Rahul Kumar to compete instead, which may have contributed to the team’s lack of coordination during the race.
