New Delhi, May 18 (H.S.): In the 60th match of the Indian Premier League 2025, Gujarat Titans defeated Delhi Capitals by 10 wickets. Gujarat chased down the target of 200 runs set by Delhi with 6 balls remaining. With this victory, Gujarat became the first team to qualify for the playoffs. Meanwhile, Delhi’s loss secured a playoff spot for Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore as well. Now, only Mumbai, Delhi, and Lucknow will compete for the fourth position.
In the match played at Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium on Sunday, Delhi, after losing the toss, batted first and scored 199 runs for the loss of 3 wickets. KL Rahul played an unbeaten innings of 112 runs off 65 balls. Faf du Plessis scored 5 runs, Abhishek Porel made 30 runs, and captain Axar Patel contributed 25 runs. Rahul not only completed his century but also helped the team reach a total of 199 runs, hitting 14 fours and four sixes in his innings.
From Gujarat, Arshad Khan, Sai Kishore, and Prasidh Krishna each took one wicket.
Chasing the target of 200 runs, the Gujarat Titans team put on a superb performance, achieving the target in just 19 overs. Both opening batsmen from Gujarat dominated the Delhi bowlers and scored 205 runs, with 6 balls to spare. Captain Shubman Gill scored 93 runs, and Sai Sudharsan played an unbeaten innings of 108 runs.
