RCB defeats DC by 6 wickets

New Delhi, April 28 (H.S.): In the 46th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) defeated Delhi Capitals (DC) by 6 wickets. With this victory, RCB has reached the top position in the points table with 14 points. At Arun Jaitley Stadium, RCB opted to bowl first. Delhi scored 162 runs after losing 8 wickets. Bengaluru chased down the target in the 19th over with 4 wickets in hand.

RCB’s start in pursuit of the target was not good. The team lost three wickets at a score of 26. Axar Patel took the wicket of Jacob Bethel (12) and Devdutt Padikkal (0). Meanwhile, Karun Nair ran out captain Rajat Patidar, giving RCB their third blow. After this, Virat Kohli and Krunal Pandya steadied the ship. The duo shared a partnership of 119 runs for the fourth wicket, which is the largest partnership by any pair for RCB and also the biggest partnership for the fourth wicket in this season. They played a crucial role in leading RCB to a fantastic victory over the Delhi bowlers.

During this, Krunal Pandya completed his career’s second half-century in 38 balls. He had hit his first fifty in 2016. He remained unbeaten with 73 runs off 47 balls. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli scored his sixth half-century of this IPL season. He played a crucial innings of 51 runs off 45 balls, hitting 4 fours. In the end, Tim David sealed the win for the team by scoring 19 runs in just five balls.

For Delhi, captain Axar Patel had two successes, while Dushmantha Chameera took one wicket.

Earlier, batting first after losing the toss, Delhi had a decent start. Abhishek Porel and Faf du Plessis shared a partnership of 33 runs for the first wicket. Hazlewood dismissed Porel for 28 runs. After this, Yash Dayal sent Karun Nair, who came in at number three, back to the pavilion for just 4 runs. In addition to them, KL Rahul scored 41 runs with the help of three fours, while Stubbs scored 34 runs at a strike rate of 188.88. Captain Axar Patel scored 15, Ashutosh Sharma made two, and Vipraj Nigam added 12 runs. Meanwhile, Mitchell Starc and Dushmantha Chameera remained unbeaten without opening their accounts.

For RCB, Bhuvneshwar Kumar took three wickets, while Hazlewood picked up two. Additionally, Yash Dayal and Krunal Pandya each took one wicket.
