
Delhi, 8 May (H.S.): Dr. Abbas Araghchi, Iran’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with India’s President, Droupadi Murmu, at Rashtrapati Bhavan today on May 8.The visit coincides with the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between India and Iran.
The President emphasized the historical ties between the two nations, highlighting shared cultural aspects such as language, literature, music, and cuisine. She noted that the bilateral relations are anchored by regular high-level dialogues, leading to growth in cultural cooperation, trade, energy partnerships, and strategic coordination.
The President appreciated Iran’s solidarity following the Pahalgam terrorist attacks and expressed optimism that the visit would deepen India-Iran relations, including ongoing joint efforts at Chabahar Port for regional cooperation.
