
Dublin/Harare, July 11 (H.S.): Veteran batsman PJ Moor, aged 35, announced his retirement from international cricket on Thursday. He played 15 Tests, 49 ODIs, and 21 T20 internationals. Born in Harare, Zimbabwe, Moor began his international career in November 2014 against Bangladesh in ODIs, with his T20 debut in 2016 against Afghanistan and Test debut against New Zealand. He played 8 Tests, all 49 ODIs, and 21 T20s for Zimbabwe.
Moor, holding an Irish passport through his grandmother, became eligible for Ireland in October 2022 and made his Test debut for Ireland in 2023, appearing in 7 Tests but not playing ODIs or T20s for them. He scored five fifties for Zimbabwe and one for Ireland, with a significant average difference between the two teams. Moore is one of 17 cricketers who have represented two countries in Test cricket.
