Israeli Ambassador Mike condemned the murder of embassy employees as a terrorist act

Israeli Embassy worker killed in Washington Jewish Museum shooting.

– Metropolitan Police Chief Smith stated that the suspect is in custody, shouted slogans of Long live Palestine, and a gun has been recovered.

Washington, May 22 (HS): The murder of two Israeli embassy employees outside the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C., has drawn significant outrage. U.S. Ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, labeled the incident a terrorist act, expressing that it traumatizes the Israeli population. FBI Director Kash Patel announced the agency’s involvement in the investigation alongside the Metropolitan Police, affirming no immediate threat to public safety. The shooting, which occurred Wednesday night as a male diplomat and a female employee exited the museum, appears to have been a targeted attack.

Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith reported that they received notice of the shooting at 9:08 PM local time. The suspect, stationed outside the museum, approached four individuals before drawing a handgun and opening fire. The incident transpired in the 300 block of F Street NW, near the FBI building, and one suspect—a 30-year-old man from Chicago—has been arrested. He was apprehended by museum security after reportedly shouting Free, Free Palestine. The firearm used in the attack has also been recovered.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem confirmed the fatalities on social media, and Israeli embassy spokesperson Tal Naim Cohen stated the embassy staff members were shot at close range during a Jewish program at the museum. Additional reports indicated that other embassy personnel at the event were injured, while Israeli Ambassador to the U.N. Danny Danon confirmed the shooting’s location outside the Jewish Museum event but the exact number of injured remains unverified.
