Washington, July 27(HS): US Congress member John Garamendi has described the Israeli policy of not delivering humanitarian aid in Gaza as falling under the category of ‘genocide’. He alleged that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s intent is to deliberately subject the citizens of Gaza to hunger and suffering. Democratic Congressman Garamendi from California stated in a statement, Israel has the capacity and resources to deliver sufficient food to the Palestinians. Despite this, they are not doing so, which is a violation of international law. It is Prime Minister Netanyahu’s deliberate decision not to provide food to Gaza.
It is noteworthy that some progressive Democratic lawmakers in the US have accused Israel of committing genocide in Gaza, but United Nations experts and major human rights organizations have labeled Israel’s military actions over the past year as a ‘genocidal campaign.’ These lawmakers argue that deliberately withholding food, medicine, and other essential aid in Gaza is not only a humanitarian crime but also a serious violation of international human rights law.
