Gaza Strip, Oct. 6(HS): At least 65 Palestinians were killed and 153 others wounded in Israeli air and artillery strikes across the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours, the enclave’s Health Ministry reported on Monday. The ministry said the latest casualties have pushed the total death toll since the outbreak of the conflict to 67,139, with nearly 170,000 others injured.

The ministry also confirmed one additional death from starvation in the past day, raising the number of fatalities linked to hunger and malnutrition to 460.According to a report by Al Jazeera, Israeli forces continued to shell Palestinian territories despite ongoing ceasefire negotiations.

Over the past 48 hours, the Israeli Air Force has carried out more than 130 airstrikes, targeting areas including Gaza City — the enclave’s administrative hub — and several refugee camps.

Meanwhile, talks aimed at securing a ceasefire, brokered by Egypt and based on a proposal from U.S. President Donald Trump, are set to begin today between Hamas and Israeli representatives in Cairo. A Hamas delegation has already arrived in Egypt as the world watches closely for a potential breakthrough.
