
New Delhi, April 12 (HS): On April 12, 2025, Italy’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, met President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan. The President welcomed Tajani’s delegation, emphasizing the historic ties between India and Italy, rooted in ancient civilization and cultural exchange. She highlighted the collaboration in emerging technologies, innovation, and defense, alongside joint efforts on multilateral platforms like the G-20.
The President pointed out significant growth potential in bilateral trade and investment, especially with India’s ambitious ‘Viksit Bharat’ roadmap by 2047, inviting Italian companies to expand in manufacturing and green technology sectors.
Additionally, she noted the Joint Strategic Action Plan from the previous year as a roadmap for the next five years and expressed hope for increased collaboration between Italian universities and Indian institutions. Both leaders agreed on enhancing the India-Italy strategic partnership.
