Jaishankar

New York, 1 July (H.S.): External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar emphasized the importance of publicly condemning state-sponsored terrorism that targets neighboring countries and stems from extremist ideologies. He inaugurated the exhibition ‘The Human Cost of Terrorism’ at the UN Headquarters in New York. During his three-day visit to the US, he remarked on the necessity of acknowledging terrorism’s devastation on global society and how it is often supported by state actors.

The exhibition runs from June 30 to July 3 and July 7 to 11, coinciding with a key moment as a certain nation assumes the Presidency of the UN Security Council. Organized by India’s Permanent Mission to the UN, the exhibition aims to garner international support against cross-border terrorism. It features displays of significant terror attacks worldwide, including notable incidents in Mumbai, linking them to various terror groups based in that unnamed nation.
