Jannik Sinner advances to Wimbledon quarterfinals after Dimitrov injury

London, July 8(HS): In the Wimbledon match on Monday, world number one Janik Sinner advanced to the quarterfinals after Bulgaria’s Grigor Dimitrov retired due to a pectoral injury. Dimitrov initially performed well, winning the first two sets 6-3, 7-5, and taking a 2-2 lead in the third, but he collapsed after serving due to pain.

Sinner, who had not lost serve in 36 games, was impacted by a right elbow injury during the second set but managed to regroup. The match took a dramatic turn when Dimitrov, clearly in distress, had to withdraw, unexpectedly allowing Sinner to progress in the tournament.
