
Islamabad, February 21 (HS): At least eight people were killed and two others were seriously injured when a van fell into a ravine this morning in Kasur district of Pakistan’s Punjab province.
The accident took place near Khara Morr on Raiwind Road. The passengers of the van were members of a music group. They were returning to Raiwind after attending a function. Rescue officials said that the accident occurred due to the negligence of the driver. He probably dozed off while driving.
According to Geo News, the police have started investigating the accident. The process of identifying the dead has been started. The bodies and the injured have been rushed to Bulleh Shah District Hospital. The condition of both the injured is critical.
At least 18 people lost their lives and 1,496 others were injured in 1,306 road accidents across all districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours, Geo News sister newspaper The News reported. According to the report, out of the casualties, 612 seriously injured people were shifted to various hospitals.
