Kejriwal government does not show interest in scheme of Sheila government revealed in CAG report

CAG

NEW DELHI, 1 March (H.S.) : The Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi did

not show interest in the ‘Laadli’ scheme of the Sheila Dikshit government. BJP

MLA Harish Khurana said that the Aam Aadmi Party government did not pay

attention to the publicity of this scheme.

There have been many shocking revelations in

the tabled CAG report regarding the health schemes of the Aam Aadmi Party

government in the Delhi Assembly. To maintain the gender ratio in Delhi, the

Congress government of Sheila Dixit had started the ‘Laadli’ scheme; the scheme

is continuing even today. But according to the report released by CAG, the Aam

Aadmi Party government of Delhi did not show seriousness regarding the ‘Laadli’

scheme started by the Sheila Dikshit government. The result was that there are

crores of rupees to be given to the beneficiaries under this scheme. But the

government was not serious in giving it to the beneficiaries.

Regarding the CAG report related to health

services in the Assembly on Friday, Delhi Health Minister Dr. Pankaj Singh said

that whatever irregularities have been found will be investigated. The CAG

report reveals that the ‘Ladli’ scheme was started on January 1, 2008. Under

this scheme, as soon as a girl child is born in a poor family, Rs 10,000 is

given directly to that family. If a girl child was born in a hospital, there

was a provision to pay Rs 11,000. Sheila Dikshit made a provision for this, and

not only this; as soon as the child was born, this amount was given to her

family.

At the same time, when the girl was admitted

into the first class, Rs 5000 was deposited in her account. Another Rs 5000 was

given in the 6th class, and 5000 more were given in the 9th class. As soon as

she passed class 10th, 5000 rupees more were given, and when she took admission

in class 12th, a further Rs 5000 was also given. The scheme transferred 1 lakh

rupees into the girl’s name as soon as she turned 18. When this scheme was

started in the year 2008, a total of 20,212 registrations were done in the first

year, 2008; 23,871 in the second year, 2009; 20,793 registrations in the third

year, 2010; and CAG said in its report that there has been a continuous

decrease in it since the year 2013. The report mentions only 3,153

registrations in the year 2020-21.

BJP MLA Harish Khurana said that the Aam Aadmi

Party government did not pay attention to the publicity of this scheme, where

the scheme, which was famous all over the world, was not taken into

consideration by the Kejriwal government. Not only this, Rs. 618 crores are

lying in the bank with the government to give money to 3.20 lakh registered

girls, but the age of the girls registered under that scheme is 25-26 years;

the government did not give that money also. An additional payment was made of

Rs 11.5 crore due to 16,546 duplicate and 131 triple registrations. No data of

intended beneficiaries was prepared. Inadequate campaigns from 2019 to 2022 to

reach out to socially vulnerable sections or potential beneficiaries. Many

questions have also been raised regarding this in the CAG report.
